Christmas of 2018 we visited Strasbourg France. It was amazing. We stayed in a hotel remarkably close to everything, the Christmas Markets, Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Strasbourg. Most of Strasbourg's tourist attractions are in the city's historic UNESCO World Heritage Site of Grande-Île. Grande- Île is best described as a large island surrounded by water ways. Our hotel was right on the water’s edge, a quick walk across the bridge and we were in the middle of all the action. Make sure you book a hotel with Breakfast, especially during the holidays. It is not like visiting the USA, lots of places close down and those that are open mostly use a reservation system. We didn’t know this and on Christmas eve couldn’t find anywhere to eat. So when we got back to the hotel, it was straight to the front desk to make reservation for Christmas Day Dinner, and so glad we did. The hotel actually offered to make reservations for us when we arrived on the 23rd, but we were like, no we’ll wing it and just bump around and find a place. NOPE, not a good idea. We should have let them make reservations for us for Dinner all three nights… LOL! But we loved everything about Strasbourg. It’s very walkable, we parked at a Parkhouse and walked everywhere.
