U.S. President Barack Obama and Chinese President Xi Jinping are holding/have just wrapped up a one-on-one meeting on the sidelines of the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington.
In his opening remarks,... President Obama said the U.S. welcomes the rise of a peaceful, stable and prosperous China working with Washington to address global challenges, like North Korea.
He said the two countries were looking to boost cooperation and narrow their differences on North Korea's pursuit of nuclear weapons.
Obama said he and President Xi were fully committed to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and the full implementation of the UN sanctions
The U.S. leader said the two sides would discuss how they can discourage nuclear and missile tests.
In his opening remarks,... President Xi said Beijing wanted to enhance communication and coordination on the North Korea nuclear issue and other regional and global issues, and to consolidate and expand their shared interests..
The two leaders are expected to have also discussed the ongoing militarization of the South China Sea, cyber security and China's questionable human rights record.
