Fyrr í ár kom ein sera forvitnislig bók út, "The Land of Maybe - A Faroe Islands Year", eftir bretska rithøvundan Tim Ecott. Eins og heitið sipar til tekur bókin støði í einum álmanakka ári í Føroyum, og við sínum gløggu gestaeygum og poetiska penni tekur Tim Ecott lesaran við á eina rundferð á okkara veðurbardu oyggjum.

Bókin hevur fingið sera góða móttøku og ummælir, bæði í Stóra Bretlandi og aðrastaðnis. Í Financial Times stendur m.a. soleiðis: "A beautiful evocation of landscape and nature, it is, above all, a portrait of a community which maintains a deep connection with its past." Í sínum ummæli skrivar kendi amerikanski rithøvundurin Paul Theroux m.a. soleiðis: "In this excellent book, Ecott's evocative telling makes me want to go to this weird and wonderful place."
