The Faroe Islands are an island group situated between the Norwegian Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean, approximately half way between Scotland and Iceland. The Faroe Islands have been an autonomous province of Denmark since 1948. The Faroese have, over the years, taken control of most matters except defense, foreign affairs and law, which remain the responsibility of Denmark. The Faroes have close traditional ties to Iceland, Norway, Shetland, Orkney, the Outer Hebrides and Greenland.

This video begins as we sail into the Tórshavn harbour on the Sea Princess. After disembarking the ship on a rainy day I take a tour of the islands. During the tour we stop at the village of Leynar where there is a picturesque waterfall and fish ladder. Next we drive through the under sea tunnel to the island of Vágar and visit the village of Sandavágur. There we visit a beautiful red-roofed church. Next we drive back to the island of Streymoy where we get a nice view of the capital city of Tórshavn from a hill outside of town. The video concludes as we sail away from the islands on the Sea Princess.
