A pod of whales (about 12) was swimming in the bay outside our hotel so we went to see them. However, very quickly the whales started to beach themselves in different groups. Recognising this, the watching crowd of holidaymakers of various nations, swimmers, locals, etc all came together and began essentially wrestling with the whales to drag them back into the sea to safety and then swam out with them splashing them away from the shore until they were out of danger. Incredible sight.
