CELEBRATING JULY 4th IN DENMARK: Americans Visit Denmark's Rebild Festen

In this video, we take you along on our trip to North Jutland for a weekend of celebrating July 4th in Denmark. We had no idea that Denmark was home to the largest 4th of July celebration outside of the United States!

During the annual event that's over 100 years old, we travel to Aalborg, explore the city, watch the Danish National Football Team win in the Euro quarterfinal, attend the Rebild Society Gala, enjoy an excellent fireworks show, and cap off the weekend with the Rebild picnic.

The whole weekend celebrated American Independence Day in Denmark with events to honor the friendship between the two countries. The history of Danish migration to the United States is behind the original purpose of the festival. Today, it's an opportunity to remember the historic ties of Denmark and the United States.

As Americans living in Denmark, it was a special event for us to honor the relationship between two countries that we love dearly. The one we were born in and the one we call home today.
