Queens Court Hotel owner Zac Sarnecki says the threat of border closures will keep people away from Queensland - even with the cut-price flights.

As part of the federal government’s $1.2 billion stimulus package 800,000 discounted airline tickets will be made available to Australians in a bid to restore the tourism, travel and aviation industries.

Mr Sarnecki said for potential visitors the closures loom “in the back of their minds” and if the border does close it will “ruin all the good work” of the scheme.

“At the back of their mind it’s still good old Annastacia Palaszczuk and her border closures," he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

"So as long as she resists the urge to close the borders on us yet again, and ruin all the good work the federal government is doing, we should be okay."
