How do you make sure your museum or heritage site has something for both first-time visitors like tourists and also appeal to regular visitors who might know the place very well already?
How can you make both types of visitors feel included and meet their expectations and wishes?
This video takes a further look at these two types of visitors!

Hello and welcome, everyone!
Museum and heritage interpretation and storytelling have many layers and overlap with so many different disciplines and practices.
I would like to explore these further through both theoretical and practical examples in these videos. I would love to hear your experiences and views as well!

About me:
I am an experienced museum and heritage interpreter and have worked internationally in the sector for many years.
I have a MA in Archaeology from Aarhus University in my native Denmark, a MA in Museum Studies from Leicester University, England and gained my PhD in Museum Interpretation and Communication at the University of St Andrews, Scotland in 2014.
I have worked at museums in the UK, in Denmark and with many international partners over the years.
However, I still miss interpretation discussions, debates, definitions and sharing of knowledge and practices within the sector.
Therefore, I have started this channel where I talk about my own experiences and observations I have come across within the sector and in my research.
The views expressed here are entirely my own and do not in any way claim to be the only way forward. In fact, museum and heritage interpretation is a field in constant development so I very much hope that some of the content I present here will be outdated quickly.
I hope my experiences will be useful for you in your own interpretation and storytelling journey – and that you will want to share your own experiences.
Best wishes and thanks for watching!
