A world-class athletic and cultural event will take place in our city.
The Municipality of Kilkis in collaboration with the International Self Defense Organization (ISDO), the International Budokai Union (IBU) Kyodokyokushin ,the Athletic Association of Socrates and Kinesis Gym Kilkis organize all together a World Meeting of Self-Defense and Martial Arts.
This groundbreaking event will begin at Saturday 19 and will be completed at Sunday 20 November.
The opening ceremony will take place Saturday, November 19, at the Victoria Hotel, and there will be a series of short speeches given by representatives of the Municipality of Kilkis and by the president of the IBU Kyodokyokushin, Misiak Maciej.
Athletes from Italy, Poland, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Ireland, Denmark, Mauritius, Nepal, Haiti and Greece will join this important sporting and cultural event. Award nominations will follow for the participant countries and afterwards, the self-defense games will take place.
On Sunday, November 20, according to the program, training sessions and color belt exam will take place and the Phylatto self-defense method will be presented with basic trainer Mr. Dimitris Grammatikopoulos. Moreover, on Sunday afternoon, a visit at the cave of Kilkis and at St George’s monastery is programmed with the initiative of the municipality of Kilkis.
The pick of the event is the presentation of the new playing style Ultimate Fighting Kyodokyokushin. Furthermore, during the day local traditional and modern dances will be presented and on Saturday night, a party will take place at Beer House Art Café.
