Denmark: Squatters pelt police with bottles on anniversary of 'Youth House' eviction

A demonstration to mark the 10th anniversary of the Ungdomshuset 'Youth House' eviction erupted in violence in Copenhagen on Wednesday evening, as protesting squatters hurled stones and bottles at police.

At first the protesters marched peacefully along Norrebrogade in the district of Norrebro, but after the protest passed the former location of the demolished Ungdomshuset, protesters began throwing stones and other objects at law enforcement. When the protesters reached the new location of the squatting project, police moved in and arrested at least nine people.
