Female tourists in Saudi Arabia no longer need to wear an abaya. According to the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, it is not mandatory for women visiting the country to wear an abaya or hijab. ... Women should cover shoulders and knees in public, but do not need to wear traditional clothing.

But for our safety we need to wear abaya and hijab.
